This policy explains what ad2txt collects, why, and what we do with it. We've tried to write it in plain language. ad2txt is a Chrome extension that transcribes video ads from the Meta Ad Library into text.

Short version: we collect the email you sign up with, the audio of the ads you choose to transcribe (only to turn it into text), and basic usage needed to run your account and credits. We don't sell your data, and we don't transcribe anything until you click to.

What we collect

We collect only what's needed to run the service:

Account information. The email address and password you provide when you create an account. Passwords are stored in encrypted, hashed form by our authentication provider — we never see or store your raw password.

Ad audio you choose to transcribe. When you click to transcribe an ad, ad2txt sends that ad's audio to our transcription service to convert it to text. This happens only for ads you actively select — nothing is captured automatically or in the background.

Transcripts and related detail. The resulting text, and limited metadata about the ad (such as its Meta Ad Library ID and length), so your history and usage are available in your account.

Usage and credit records. How much transcription you've used, so we can track your credit balance and subscription.

Payment information. When you subscribe or buy credits, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number — Stripe processes it and shares only limited details with us (such as a customer ID and payment status).

What we do NOT collect

We do not capture your screen, browsing history, or activity on other websites.

The extension only runs on the Meta Ad Library. It does not read, track, or transcribe anything elsewhere in your browser.

We do not transcribe any audio unless you click to transcribe a specific ad.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

How we use your information

We use the information above only to:

Create and secure your account.

Transcribe the ads you select and return the text to you.

Track your credits, subscription, and usage.

Process payments and prevent fraud or abuse.

Provide support and respond to your questions.

Keep the service working and improve it.

Service providers we share data with

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate ad2txt. They only receive what they need to do their job:

Supabase — stores your account, credit balance, and transcript records.

Deepgram — converts the ad audio you select into text. Audio is sent for the purpose of transcription.

Stripe — processes subscription and credit payments.

Each of these providers maintains its own privacy and security practices. We do not authorize them to use your data for their own marketing.

How long we keep your data

We keep your account information and transcript history for as long as your account is active. If you close your account or ask us to delete your data, we remove your personal information, except where we're required to keep certain records (for example, payment records for tax and accounting).

Your choices and rights

You can:

Access or update your account information at any time.

Delete your saved transcripts from within the extension.

Request deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing us at [email protected].

Cancel your subscription at any time; you keep any credits you've already purchased.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your data (such as under GDPR or CCPA). To exercise any of them, contact us at the email above and we'll respond as required by law.

Data security

We use reputable providers and standard security practices to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your data.

Children

ad2txt is a professional tool intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of ad2txt after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
